S’Acqua Cotta

S’Acqua Cotta is an ancient thermo-mineral spring area in the Campidano plain (Villasor, southern Sardinia), on the central-western edge of the Campidano graben.
Its waters are bicarbonate–alkaline, epithermal and are often compared (for composition and behavior) to those of Sardara, Santa Lucia di Bonorva, and Fordongianus. The spring emerges where rising thermal waters cross recent alluvial deposits and surface along faults affecting the underlying Ordovician metamorphic rocks (a setting similar to Sardara’s Santa Maria de is Acquas).
The flow is about 6 L/s, and the temperature measured at the bottom of the production well is around 51.5°C. Notably, the water is naturally “gassy”: historical accounts mention dissolved gases including carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen.
Today, the spring’s water is bottled and sold as Acqua Minerale Sandalia (also available in a carbonated version), produced at the Villasor plant.

Some place to take a bath might be found in the fields but no picture water available online. To be discovered !
