Sorgente Mitza e Arramini
Sorgente Mitza e Arramini lies near the town of Masainas, along the edge of the Giba plain in southwestern Sardinia. This area hosts several warm, bicarbonate–alkaline–earth springs, likely connected to local fault systems that cut between Cambrian bedrock and Eocene formations.
There are six main sources in the area — Perdu Spada, Perdu Mannu, Peppi Marroccu, Acqua Callenti, Fonte Calda, and Campu Pisanu — with temperatures ranging from 23°C to 30°C, a pH between 6.7 and 6.9, and flow rates varying between 0.4 and 1.5 L/s.
Although information is limited, locals report that some of these springs emerge at the foot of the hills near Masainas, and a few may have simple stone basins arranged for bathing or collecting water. The area remains largely undeveloped and natural, offering a glimpse of Sardinia’s more discreet and lesser-known thermal heritage.
